A Practical but Pretty Summer Holiday Wardrobe
The summer is finally here and the thoughts of many are turning to their summer holiday. For women and girls the most taxing part of planning a summer holiday is not buying the tickets or choosing the hotel; it’s deciding what clothes to take. Given the choice, most would pack everything they own ‘just in case’, but this isn’t practical for many reasons. Many choose to buy a whole new wardrobe just for the holiday, and the best way to do this is to choose items that can be worn in many different ways and on a variety of occasions. For example, jeans are a staple in every woman’s wardrobe – they can be casual when worn with a simple t-shirt and ballet pumps, but transformed into a dressy evening outfit when teamed with a sparkly top and high-heeled sandals. The same t-shirt or evening top can be worn with a skirt, too; perhaps a mini-skirt for day trips or outings to the beach, and a longer skirt for evenings out. Don’t forget pedal-pushers, too. They can look great during the day and in the evenings with careful accessorising.
For swimming and sun-bathing, there’s no need to pack something different for every day. A bikini is great for both; a simple all-in-one swimsuit can double up as a t-shirt with the addition of a skirt when leaving the beach to go shopping.
Long dresses are very trendy right now in ladies wear, even in summer. In light-weight fabrics and pretty prints, they can be dressed down for daytime – perhaps worn with flat gladiator sandals and a big floppy sun hat, or, with the addition of strappy high heels and some glitzy jewellery will look very glamorous in the evening.
By choosing wisely and making sure all the items in the summer wardrobe can be mixed and matched together, it is easily possible to feel like a million dollars, whatever the occasion, for the entire holiday.
